Product details
Founded in 1884 in Nara, Japan’s ancient capital, Imanishi Seibei Shoten has brewed sake for over a century under the celebrated Harushika (“Spring Deer”) label. The name honors Nara’s sacred deer, symbolizing elegance, purity, and seasonal renewal. Guided by the brewery’s fourfold philosophy—polishing the rice, the water, the skill, and the heart—Harushika crafts sake with meticulous attention to balance and drinkability. Harushika Sakura Junmai is brewed from Hinohikari table rice, expressing a richly savory junmai style that is approachable yet full-bodied, ideal for both casual enjoyment and refined dining.
This sake opens with a gentle, restrained aroma that invites you in rather than overwhelming the senses. On the palate, its soft, velvety texture carries the tender, sweet umami of rice, gradually expanding into a full and satisfying richness. The flavor is concentrated yet never heavy, with a smooth, rounded depth that lingers pleasantly, offering a warm and comforting finish.
The dense, savory profile of Harushika Sakura Junmai makes it an excellent match for richly flavored dishes. It pairs beautifully with braised pork belly, grilled eel kabayaki, and hot pots. The sake’s umami-laden sweetness harmonizes with hearty, seasoned foods, creating a seamless bridge between savory depth and the gentle elegance of traditional Japanese brewing.
