Product details
Crafted by Imanishi Seibei Shoten in Nara—widely recognized as the birthplace of sake—Harushika draws inspiration from the local legend of deities arriving atop sacred deer at Kasuga Shrine, giving rise to the name “Harushika” (meaning “Spring Deer”). Since its founding in 1884, the brewery has upheld generations of artisanal brewing, carefully polishing rice to about 55% for its Junmai Ginjo offerings. Harushika’s focus is on producing clean, elegant, and well-balanced sake that embodies Japanese heritage while appealing to modern palates.
Harushika Fuinshu Junmai Ginjo is distinguished by its refined ginjo aroma that rises gracefully from the glass, offering an elegant first impression. On the palate, it reveals light yet satisfying umami, carried on a soft, silk-like texture that glides effortlessly. The interplay of gentle fruit nuances and airy savoriness creates a poised and harmonious profile, leaving a polished, lingering finish that speaks to the brewer’s precision.
The sake’s graceful aromatics and silky mouthfeel pair beautifully with delicate dishes such as sashimi, steamed white fish, and lightly seasoned vegetables. Its light umami also complements more subtly flavored poultry or tofu dishes, enhancing natural flavors without overpowering them. For a refined touch, it can also accompany mild cheeses or simple Japanese hot pot, allowing its smooth elegance to shine.
