HEAVENSAKE’s Urakasumi Label Orange Junmai Daiginjo represents the inspired union of French blending mastery and nearly 300 years of Japanese brewing heritage. This collaboration pairs acclaimed assemblage master Régis Camus—celebrated for his award-winning Champagne blending—with the revered Urakasumi brewery of Miyagi Prefecture. Founded in 1724, Urakasumi is famous for crafting elegant, food-friendly sakes and pioneering the use of distinctive yeasts, including the renowned Kyokai No. 12. In this limited-release cuvée, Camus harnesses two proprietary Urakasumi yeasts to shape a pure, multi-layered profile. The precise rice composition—a secret combination of premium Yamada Nishiki and a select Miyagi-grown variety—further underscores the brewery’s dedication to refined expression. Bottled in HEAVENSAKE’s signature black glass with a vibrant orange cap, Label Orange is both striking and sophisticated, exemplifying a vision to elevate sake to the realm of fine wine.
On the nose, this Junmai Daiginjo offers a silky, slightly rich aroma balanced by clean dryness and complex umami depth. Each sip unfurls layers of tropical and orchard fruit—juicy pineapple, lychee, fresh green apple, and ripe melon—interwoven with delicate notes of blossom, white lily, and subtle hints of dried fruit. The palate is simultaneously lush and precise, with a mineral backbone that provides lift and freshness. Best enjoyed chilled in a wine glass to enhance its aromatic clarity, Label Orange pairs beautifully with aged cheeses like Parmigiano or luxurious delicacies such as caviar. It is equally at home alongside refined seafood dishes, making it a versatile companion for special occasions or elevated dining experiences.
