Product details
Loch Lomond 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch is an exceptionally rare release drawn from some of the house’s oldest reserves, with only 100 individually numbered bottles produced. Originally laid down in 1973 using Loch Lomond’s distinctive Straight Neck stills, it spent five decades developing within the natural surroundings of Loch Lomond. Its extended maturation began in carefully selected refill American oak, followed by first-fill Bourbon hogsheads, before more than five years of finishing in a first-fill Oloroso hogshead. This carefully considered progression of casks gives the 50 Year Old remarkable depth while preserving the vibrant fruit character that defines this distinguished release.
The aromatic profile opens with refreshing orange and mint, followed by grilled peach, mango, and nutmeg. On the palate, melted brown sugar introduces juicy apricot and tangy orange marmalade, developing into darker notes of plum and cherry before creamy vanilla fudge and warming cinnamon spice emerge. The finish is exceptionally long and mouthwatering, unfolding with watermelon and kiwi, a bright grapefruit edge, green tea, and lingering wood spice.
