Product details

The Macallan Sir Peter Down to Work Proof 93.4 is a rare, collectible single malt that celebrates the dedication, craftsmanship, and heritage behind The Macallan. Created in collaboration with celebrated British artist Sir Peter Blake as part of the Anecdotes of Ages Collection, this release commemorates the decision to remain faithful to sherry-seasoned European oak casks during a period of commercial pressure, a commitment that continues to define the brand. Selected by Lead Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, the exceptional 1967 vintage matured for 50 years in sherry-seasoned European oak casks. The limited release comprises just 322 bottles, presented in a European oak box inspired by Sir Peter Blake’s traditional art supply case. Thoughtful details include a removable panel revealing a photographic collage and a sliding drawer containing a leather-bound book featuring 13 artworks and stories from the collection, bringing together artistic expression and The Macallan’s enduring heritage.

The Macallan Sir Peter Down to Work opens with classic antique oak, dried fruit, and fig, layered with pineapple, mango, and rich chocolate-strawberry notes. The palate reveals warm chocolate, nutmeg, ginger, oak spices, and sweet oak, followed by pineapple, coconut, strawberry, and hazelnut. Its complex, medium-to-long finish brings together chocolate, sweet oak, and lightly spiced peach, creating a richly layered profile that reflects its extended maturation and distinctive sherry-seasoned oak influence.
