Product details
The heritage of this remarkable bottling lies within the distinguished “Director’s Special” series by The Single Malts of Scotland, a collection that honours rare and exceptional casks selected for their outstanding character. Sourced from one single matured vessel dating back to 1996 at the renowned Highland site Ben Nevis, the liquid reveals decades of refinement. Crafted with no additive colouring or chill-filtration, it displays a deep, lustrous amber hue and offers a profile of both strength and subtlety. Only 228 bottles were drawn from the original cask, making this release intensely limited and highly sought-after.
On the nose, a tapestry of rich and inviting aromas emerges: dark chocolate intertwines with lychee and fresh raspberry leaf, while honey-edged citrus and ripe guava add bright, juicy layers. The palate is dense and oily in texture, offering dried mango and succulent peach-juice sweetness balanced by herbal notes such as bay leaf and tarragon. Blood orange and grapefruit rise vibrantly through a backdrop of nutmeg and white chocolate. The finish lingers generously: the oily texture remains prominent as cinnamon and dark honey take hold, and the grapefruit zest returns to give a clean, sustained finale.
