Product details
Born from the traditions in Hiroshima, Maboroshi “Nakao’s Secret” carries a legacy that bridges past and present. Harnessing the brewery’s own proprietary yeast and guarded methods passed down from earlier masters, Nakao was honored to have its creations chosen for the Imperial New Year Celebration for three consecutive years between 1949 and 1952. Since then, all specialty offerings crafted with these original methods have been crowned with the name Maboroshi. This particular release embodies that lineage, returning to the roots of rice-based fermentation with a seemingly simple yet profoundly layered profile that honors both restraint and depth.
On the senses, “Nakao’s Secret” reveals a soft and refined bouquet, led by subtle green apple tones interwoven with clean grain notes. The texture is delicate yet full of character, carrying flavors that are quietly complex—light fruit hints, earthy undertones, and a gentle dryness that lingers with grace. The finish is crisp and harmonious, echoing both clarity and depth. Balanced and versatile, it complements a wide range of foods, from tuna steak and yakitori to light tempura, enhancing each with its quiet elegance.
