Product details
The Little Book series is an annual, limited-release whiskey project helmed by Jim Beam’s 8th-generation distiller, Freddie Noe—nicknamed “Little Book” by his grandfather, Beam legend Booker Noe. Chapter 9, titled “None for Granted,” is a bold, uncut and unfiltered blend crafted over 18 months, paying tribute to the foundational flavors of modern American whiskey. This cask‑strength blend (121.8 proof / 60.9 % ABV) merges five distinct whiskeys aged between 7 and 11 years—including one rye and four bourbons; uniquely, one was made using a brown‑rice mashbill and another fermented for five days instead of the typical three. The result is a spirit that unites rich Beam heritage with experimental depth, all packaged in the signature tall bottle with handwritten label expressing its handcrafted small‑batch ethos.
Tasting Little Book #9 reveals a captivating tapestry of aromas and flavors. Visually, it shows a deep copper-gold hue, with a complex nose of ripe apple, brown sweets, caramel, butterscotch, baking spice, and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and viscous, offering creamy caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, charred vanilla, stone fruit, roasted peanuts, and dried apricot, underpinned by warm oak and lingering baking spice. The finish is long, spicy, and elegant—an embodiment of classic American whiskey. It pairs exceptionally well with bold, savory dishes: think smoked brisket, aged cheddar, dark-chocolate desserts, or a well-aged cigar—each complementing the whiskey’s sweetness, spice, and oak-driven warmth.
