Product details
Henri Champliau Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Authentique is a distinguished sparkling wine from the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. Founded in 2016 by Alexandre Graffard and named in honor of his grandfather, Henri Champliau, the estate embodies a deep respect for Burgundy's winemaking traditions. Operating as a négociant, Graffard collaborates closely with select growers to source high-quality grapes, emphasizing Pinot Noir as the cornerstone of the house style. The Brut Authentique cuvée is crafted from 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, with each varietal vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Following the traditional method, the wine undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle and is aged sur lattes for 15 months, enhancing its complexity and texture.
The aroma and flavor of Brut Authentique are driven by Pinot Noir, which brings strength and complexity to the cuvée, while Chardonnay provides freshness and precision. Fifteen months aging sur lattes contributes richness and texture to this high-quality example of Crémant de Bourgogne. This Crémant pairs beautifully with a range of dishes, including grilled salmon, seared Ahi tuna, sushi, sashimi, and vegetable-based recipes featuring root vegetables, mushrooms, or eggplant. Its elegance and depth make it an excellent choice for both casual gatherings and refined dining experiences.
