Product details

Arista Winery’s 2020 Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a masterful expression of Sonoma County’s celebrated Chardonnay terroir, crafted with precision and reverence for traditional winemaking. Founded with a commitment to showcasing the uniqueness of the Russian River Valley, Arista blends fruit from five exceptional vineyard sites—Flora Marie, El Diablo, Ritchie, Banfield, and its own Westside Road Estate. These old vine plantings benefit from the valley’s ideal climate and soil diversity. Grapes are harvested at night and processed early in the morning to preserve freshness, with whole-cluster pressing followed by natural fermentation in French oak barrels using native yeasts. Limited stirring (battonage) in the early months supports healthy fermentation, after which the wine is left undisturbed for nearly a year before a final aging period of 4–6 months in stainless steel. The result is a Chardonnay that delivers vintage transparency and varietal purity.

The 2020 Russian River Chardonnay offers early approachability without compromising depth or character, making it a standout in Arista’s lineup. Aromas of lemon curd, candied orange peel, and white flowers lead into a rich palate layered with baking spices and caramelized sugar. A subtle flinty reduction and a vibrant backbone of citrus-inflected acidity bring tension and energy to the wine’s long, clean finish. This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with a range of dishes—from seared scallops and roasted poultry to creamy risottos or soft cheeses—making it as versatile on the table as it is expressive in the glass.
