Product details
Nestled in the legendary Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, Domaine Paul Pernot is a family estate with roots dating back six generations and spanning around 23 hectares, including a celebrated parcel on Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. Their 2023 vintage is crafted with scrupulous attention to sustainable farming and low yields, delivering a concentrate of pristine clarity and depth. The expression is shaped by vines averaging several decades old, planted on limestone-rich soils, giving a synthesis of power and elegance characteristic of Puligny-Montrachet’s finest terroir.
On the nose, there’s an alluring softness and richness, with warm orchard fruit—ripe apples and juicy white peach—alongside chalky minerals and subtle spice notes. The mouthfeel is luscious and weighty, with generous viscosity and concentrated stone-fruit flavors that are supported by a taut citrus core offering balance and lift. Despite its breadth, it retains freshness and a precise acidity, finishing long, clean and saline-tinged. A refined expression that promises to age beautifully over the next decade or more. This grand cru pairs beautifully with butter-poached lobster, Dover sole in a Champagne sauce, or roasted turbot with wild mushrooms. It also complements creamy poultry dishes and aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère, enhancing its layered depth and elegance at the table.
