Product details
Domaine Camille Thiriet, founded in 2016 by Camille Thiriet and Canadian-born winemaker Matt Chittick, is a rising star in Burgundy known for its artisan-scale production and traditional methods. Operating out of a humble garage behind the Château de Comblanchien in Côte de Nuits, the domaine emphasizes minimal intervention and terroir transparency. La Robignotte is a rare 0.60-hectare monopole, nestled just beneath La Montagne on a distinctive terroir defined by blue marl veins and deep clay-limestone soils rich in silt. These soil conditions contribute to the wine’s signature suppleness and velvety texture. Fermented with a portion of whole clusters and aged in oak barrels (about 20% new), the 2023 vintage continues the domaine’s commitment to producing soulful Pinot Noir that reflects both site and vintage with exceptional clarity.
The 2023 La Robignotte is a deeply expressive Pinot Noir, opening with intense aromas of black cherry and a delicate touch of violet. The palate is both powerful and refined, offering depth, minerality, and a silky texture derived from the site’s rich, loamy soils. Structurally built for aging, the wine shows both charm and raciness, balancing concentration with finesse and a long, harmonious finish. Ideal with roasted duck, game birds, or earthy mushroom dishes, this wine shines alongside richly flavored cuisine that highlights its elegant structure and layered complexity.
