Product details
Nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis Distillery produces a bold, characterful spirit known for its oily, industrial edge. The independent bottler Adelphi Selection seeks casks that encapsulate raw distillery character and deliver powerful flavours—this 10‑year‑old expression, distilled in 2013 and matured exclusively in a refill Oloroso sherry butt (Cask No. 13), is a prime example. Bottled at a bold cask strength of 59.5% ABV and limited to just 568 bottles, it’s non‑chill‑filtered and naturally coloured—a testament to the brand’s philosophy of showcasing whisky in its purest form.
The nose greets you with warm maple-syrup hues, lacquered wood, and an undusted library of old books, alongside fig Newtons, date‑bread, molasses, pumpkin pie, cherries, and candied walnuts. On the palate, expect decadent indulgence: Black Forest cake, leather armchair, dark chocolate truffle, pecan pie, brandied eggnog with shaved nutmeg, and candied lemon, all riding a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel.
