One of Napa Valley’s pioneering wineries, Trefethen Family Vineyards has been crafting distinguished estate-grown wines since 1968, with a steadfast commitment to expressing the unique spirit of their land, vines, and people. The Trefethen family’s dedication is evident in every facet of their operation—from sustainable farming practices and thoughtful winemaking to gracious hospitality that welcomes visitors to their historic estate. The Eshcol line, named after the winery’s original moniker Eshcol Ranch, serves as an inviting introduction to their portfolio. It offers wine lovers a chance to experience estate-grown, sustainably produced Napa Valley wines at exceptional value, without compromising on quality or craftsmanship.
Eshcol Red 2022 is an authentic and approachable red blend, sourced entirely from Trefethen’s Main Ranch vineyard in the Oak Knoll District. Winemaker Bryan Kays expertly crafts a unique blend each vintage, showcasing the strength of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by smaller amounts of Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. The wine opens with bold, fruit-forward aromas of blackberry and dried cherry. On the palate, vibrant red fruit flavors unfold, supported by modest tannins and well-balanced acidity, resulting in a versatile, food-friendly profile. Perfect for pairing with casual dinners, it complements dishes such as grilled meats, hearty pastas, roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses, making it a delightful companion for both everyday meals and special gatherings.
