Product details
Filey Bay is the pioneering single‑malt distillery on England’s Yorkshire coast, built around the concept of “field‑to‑bottle” whisky made entirely from home‑grown barley. Every element, from barley grown locally to copper pot distillation and on‑site bottling, reflects deep regional stewardship and transparent craftsmanship. Cask #904 is one of only a handful of Oloroso Sherry hogsheads that Filey Bay has ever filled and matured in house, making this Yorkshire Single Cask release exceptionally rare. Bottled at full cask strength of 59.2 % ABV and limited to just 306 bottles, it embodies both the light, fruity distillery style and the bold oxidative influence of a genuine Oloroso cask.
This single cask expression is rich and spicy, showcasing a bold sherry character that perfectly complements Filey Bay’s signature light and fruity spirit. On the nose, it offers deep aromas of dried fruits, toasted oak, and a hint of cocoa. The palate is layered with luxurious notes of boiled sweets, spiced treacle, and dark chocolate, all framed by warming oak and a subtle nuttiness. A natural cask strength of 59.2% ABV gives it a robust, full-bodied texture, while the Oloroso cask imparts a lingering, indulgent finish with echoes of cinnamon and stewed figs. Ideal for pairing with dark chocolate desserts, spiced fruitcakes, or savory dishes like duck with plum sauce or blue cheese, this special release invites both reflection and celebration with every sip.
