Product details
Domaine Potinet-Ampeau Meursault 2019 is a refined expression of Chardonnay from the clay-limestone soils of Meursault in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. This respected family estate follows a traditional, patient approach, beginning with hand harvesting and gentle pressing to preserve the character and aromatic detail of the fruit. The 2019 selection is developed in oak barrels under carefully controlled temperatures, followed by approximately 18 to 22 months of maturation with only a modest proportion of new oak. This measured approach allows the character of Meursault to remain at the forefront, combining finesse, mineral definition, and depth with a smooth texture and graceful structure.
Pale golden yellow with subtle green reflections, the 2019 Meursault opens with ripe pear, yellow apple, white peach, and bright lemon zest, complemented by wildflowers, toasted almond, and brioche. The medium-bodied palate carries fresh peach and white plum over a precise mineral backbone reminiscent of wet stone and oyster shell, while vibrant acidity provides freshness and balance. The finish is long, elegant, and gently saline. A graceful companion to pan-seared scallops, lobster with a light butter sauce, roasted chicken, or refined soft cheeses.
