Product details
Domaine Louis Jadot Beaune Clos Ursules Monopole 1er Cru 2011 comes from the Clos des Ursules, a walled portion of the Beaune 1er Cru Vignes Franches in Burgundy. Acquired by Louis Henry Denis Jadot in 1826, the property has remained solely owned by the Jadot family, giving this historic site a distinctive place within the domaine’s heritage. For this cuvée, destemmed grapes are fermented in vats over three to four weeks before being aged for 18 months in oak barrels made by the CADUS cooperage. The combination of a long-established monopole site and extended oak maturation contributes to the structured and refined character associated with this Beaune 1er Cru.
The 2011 vintage opens with aromas of red and black cherry, spice, earth, and a subtle game character, followed by cool, pure, medium-bodied flavors with a delicate mineral impression. A firm yet refined tannic structure provides shape and definition, leading into a delicious, moderately persistent finish with good depth. Its savory and structured profile makes it a versatile choice with roasted salmon, roasted chicken, grilled beef, lamb chops, osso buco, stews, ragout, duck, or traditional Burgundy dishes such as boeuf bourguignon.
