The parcel was donated to the Hospices de Beaune in 1976 by Jean Collignon and named in memory of his mother, Madeleine Collignon. Located in Mazis-Hauts at the heart of the hillside and neighboring Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, the vineyard benefits from a distinguished position within the Côte de Nuits. More than two-thirds of this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1947, contributing to its remarkable density, silky tannins, and exceptional length. Matured under the care of Maison Louis Jadot, the 2009 vintage reflects the depth and individuality of this historic Grand Cru.
