Product details
Born from a legacy of revival and precision, this handcrafted creation is made entirely from the rare Watari Bune rice, an heirloom varietal once thought lost for half a century. Revived in 1989 by Takaaki Yamauchi, seventh-generation president of Huchu Homare, the rice was reborn from a mere 14 grams of preserved seed. Today, that same dedication to craftsmanship continues in small seasonal batches, using the same prized grain once honored as “Liquid Gold.” Each bottle reflects the brand’s devotion to preserving traditional methods while embracing innovation, including reduced vacuum distillation at remarkably low temperatures between 106–107°F to preserve the rice’s pure character.
On the palate, it reveals a silky balance of richness and clarity—creamy yet ethereal—with subtle layers of cantaloupe, grapefruit, honey, and a whisper of warm rice. A gentle brightness adds lift to the finish, leaving a refreshing and harmonious impression. It can be enjoyed in multiple ways: savored at room temperature, over ice, topped with sparkling water, or gently warmed to release its full depth and nuance.
