Product details
Takara Fune “Treasure Ship” Junmai Ginjo Sake is a refined expression of Miyashita Brewery’s dedication to quality and tradition. Established in 1915 in Okayama Prefecture, Miyashita Brewery has long been celebrated for its commitment to crafting premium sake using locally sourced ingredients. The region's mild climate, soft water, and high-quality rice, particularly Yamada Nishiki, provide an ideal environment for sake production. In creating “Treasure Ship,” the brewery employs Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 60%, allowing the pure flavors of the rice to shine through. This Junmai Ginjo sake is brewed without the addition of distilled alcohol, adhering to traditional methods that highlight the natural characteristics of the ingredients.
Upon tasting, “Treasure Ship” offers an immediate scent of refreshing sweetness, unfolding into a bouquet reminiscent of cherry blossoms with a hint of grain alcohol. The palate experiences a razor-sharp smoothness, with the first contact being light and pure, akin to premium flower tea. Its flavor profile includes notes of pear and a subtle graininess, culminating in a lingering woodsy finish. This sake pairs exceptionally well with lighter fare such as sushi, fine cheeses, and dishes featuring white wine sauces. For optimal enjoyment, it is best served slightly chilled, around 55°F, to balance its sweetness and enhance its delicate flavors.
