Product details
Since its founding in 1923 in the Marne Valley, Mousse Fils has been a pioneer in expressing the distinct personality of Meunier grapes with purity and precision. This product is crafted from a unique blend of two perpetual reserves: one of white (Eugène) and one of red, creating remarkable depth and consistency across each release. The red portion comes exclusively from a single Meunier plot in Cuisles, vinified with extended, cool maceration and matured in seasoned barrels of at least eight years of age. This careful choice of older oak encourages controlled oxygenation, enhancing nuance without masking freshness.
Bright and vivid, it opens with fragrant red fruit aromas—think wild strawberry, raspberry, and blood orange—woven together with floral perfume, spice, and a slate-like mineral undertone. On the palate, it offers energetic acidity, a refined structure, and a saline-edged finish that is bone-dry. Ideal alongside savory cured meats, tuna tartare, or crisp fried vegetables, it elevates while allowing dishes to shine.
