Product details

Knob Creek Blender's Edition 01 Straight Bourbon (106 Proof) is an intentional, "off-profile" release curated by 8th-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe. While traditional Knob Creek expressions lean into deep oak, dusty leather, and drying nuttiness, this 10-year-old limited bottling was meticulously blended to highlight a much softer, highly expressive, and confectionery-forward sweetness.

Nose (Aroma)

  • The Lead: Warm, prominent notes of brown sugar, vanilla frosting, and light caramel.
  • The Coating: A distinct candy-like sweetness reminiscent of powdered sugar-coated marshmallows.
  • Undertones: Nuances of dried cherry, orange peel, and warm baking spices (clove/cinnamon) balanced by a subtle, fresh touch of citrus. It smells lively and vibrant rather than heavily oak-laden or dusty.
Taste & Mouthfeel

  • The Palate: A dense, full-bodied, and deeply coating mouthfeel that carries its 106 proof with impressive structural weight.
  • Flavor Profile: The front and mid-palate are heavily sweet-leaning, dominated by layers of creamy custard, butterscotch, maple syrup, and dark cherry.
  • Distillery DNA: The signature Jim Beam mashbill characteristics still break through, offering a savory note of roasted peanut butter (rather than dry peanut shells) coupled with a gentle rye-derived cinnamon heat.
The Finish

  • Duration: Medium to long, tapering off with a soft texture.
  • Final Impressions: Settles into a classic combination of charred oak, lingering vanilla, sweet tobacco, and black peppercorn.
