Kilchoman 11 Year Old Rockside represents Kilchoman’s distinctive single-farm approach on Islay, with the barley grown on Rockside Farm and the full production process carried out on the farm before the finished expression is bottled. Rockside is distinguished by its combination of lightly peated character and maturation in both ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, creating a layered profile that brings together citrus sweetness, tropical fruit, and mixed spice. As Islay’s only single-farm single malt, the Rockside series offers a distinctive expression of Kilchoman’s estate-grown barley and its strong connection to the land where it is produced.
The nose opens with orange, lemon peel, fragrant elderflower, honeyed sweetness, and a maritime character. On the palate, citrus and tropical fruits combine with barley sugars, toffee apple, salted caramel sweetness, and subtle peat character. The finish develops into butterscotch, walnuts, lingering juicy citrus, and stone fruit, creating a balanced progression from bright citrus and fruit through richer sweet and nutty notes.
