In 2001 Marumoto-san set out to add a new dimension to his portfolio, experimenting with European fermentation styles and methods for creating natural effervescence. After years of trial he succeeded in producing one of Japan’s first naturally sparkling beverages of its kind — a gently carbonated release created by a secondary, in-tank effervescence rather than forced gas. Made in Okayama, the sunny “Land of Sunshine,” it draws inspiration from a region famed for peaches, strawberries and coastal seafood; that bright, agricultural character is reflected in the beverage’s clean, fruit-forward personality and its soft, refined mouthfeel.
Soft and creamy on the palate with delicate, persistent bubbles, it opens with ripe peach yogurt aromas that melt into playful cream soda sweetness. The texture is rounded and lightly mousse-like, finishing with a clean, refreshing lift that keeps the sweetness in balance. Best enjoyed well chilled, it pairs beautifully with creamy cheeses, berry desserts, or dishes with a spicy kick — anywhere a creamy, fruity fizz will bring a little brightness to the table.
