Product details
Greywacke Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024 reflects founder Kevin Judd’s distinctive approach to Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, bringing together fruit from selected vineyard sites across the Southern Valleys and central Wairau Plains, including Woodbourne, Renwick, and Rapaura. The diverse vineyard locations contribute fruit grown on both alluvial river-stone soils and older clay-loams, creating a foundation for depth and texture. For the 2024 vintage, fruit was harvested during cool nighttime conditions and transported directly to the winery, where it was lightly pressed before cold settling. Fermentation took place primarily in stainless steel tanks, while individual vineyard lots remained on lees until the final blend was assembled. The 2024 growing season produced excellent ripeness while retaining crisp acidity, resulting in a Marlborough expression with both richness and freshness.
The 2024 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc is deliciously aromatic, showing honeydew melon and orange blossom with delicate herb-garden botanicals. The palate brings juicy lemon and steely cassis alongside a generously textured mouthfeel, with notes of pastis and wildflowers adding further complexity. Bright, structured, and deep, it presents a more restrained interpretation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc while retaining the variety’s characteristic freshness and vibrant fruit profile.
