Product details
Foo Fighters Hansho Silver Junmai Daiginjo is a collaborative creation between the iconic rock band Foo Fighters and Tatenokawa Shuzo, a historic brewery in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1832, Tatenokawa is renowned for its dedication to crafting premium Junmai Daiginjo sakes. This special edition was brewed to commemorate the band's 25th anniversary and the release of their 10th album, "Medicine at Midnight." Uniquely, the fermentation process involved playing Foo Fighters' music, aiming to infuse the sake with the band's energetic spirit.
Crafted using Omachi rice polished to 50%, Hansho Silver offers a well-structured mouthfeel and a dignified appearance. The flavor profile is heavy and expressive, with a sharp aftertaste that reflects the band's rock essence. Tasting notes include delicate floral aromas reminiscent of white blossoms, interwoven with hints of ripe pear and a touch of melon. The palate reveals flavors of honeydew melon, lychee, and a subtle umami undertone, culminating in a clean and refreshing finish. This sake pairs well with rich foods, cream sauces, cheeses, and fried dishes, making it a versatile choice for various culinary experiences.
