Product details
Enishi Umeshu is a fruit-forward Japanese plum expression created around the idea of *enishi*, a Japanese term associated with meaningful connections and serendipitous encounters. It combines fully ripe Nanko-Ume grown at the producer’s own farm with Tsuyu Akane, a distinctive plum variety known for its red skin and flesh. The plums are carefully macerated with rock sugar and Genshu made by Sasaki Shuzo in Kyoto, allowing the fruit to develop its characteristic color and concentrated fruit character. The use of two plum varieties gives Enishi its distinctive identity, bringing together carefully selected farm-grown fruit and Kyoto-produced Genshu in a thoughtfully crafted seasonal-style expression.
Enishi Umeshu displays an elegant ruby color with a pronounced fruity character derived from the ripe Nanko-Ume and red-fleshed Tsuyu Akane plums. Its profile emphasizes ripe fruit and gentle sweetness, with the natural character of the carefully selected plums remaining at the center. The result is a refined, fruit-driven expression that reflects the distinctive character of its ingredients and the serendipitous spirit represented by the name Enishi.
