Product details
Perched at roughly 1,800 feet on the slopes of the Howell Mountain region, the Hershey Vineyard is part of the Dana Estates portfolio where rigorous care meets elevated terrain. Here the vines are nurtured individually, yields kept low and exposures varied—resulting in grapes of exceptional intensity. The grapes harvested in 2012 were drawn exclusively from this site, reflecting its minerality, elevation and old‑vine roots. The final product carries the imprint of that place: dense yet structured, refined yet powerful, a true statement of its mountain vineyard origin.
The impression begins with deep, dark hues and an aromatic blend of mocha, mulberry, crème de cassis and graphite, interwoven with hints of spring flowers. On the palate the experience is full‑bodied and concentrated: ripe black and red fruits dominate, underscored by intense minerality and defined, finely‑woven tannins that feel almost like cashmere in texture. A persistent, grounded finish offers chalk and ash‑like precision layered with subtle anise and forest floor notes, making this vintage both commanding and elegant.
