Product details
With a foundation built by a distinguished independent bottler, this Speyside single malt was selected for its exceptional first-fill tawny-port barrique maturation, one single cask chosen with precision to express both character and rarity. The house behind it seeks out standout casks, forgoing chill filtration and colour addition, allowing each expression to reveal the personality of the wood and grain in unadulterated form. This 12-year old example benefits from the interplay between the Highland-grown malt and its tawny-port housing, yielding a vessel that displays a mesmerising amber-to-deep-copper hue and invites discovery of its multi-layered structure.
On the nose one is greeted with gently waxy fruit tones and the seductive aroma of ripe, poached peaches, followed by a whisper of warm strudel pastry. The palate then deepens into richer territory—an interplay of supple leather, delicate tobacco leaf, and deeply saturated orchard fruit supported by well-rounded oak embers. The finish lingers thick and generous, the oak remaining firm yet elegant, with a coating of sweet tobacco echoing long after the glass is set down.v
