Very deep purple-black colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is little youthfully mute to begin, slowly unfurling to reveal boysenberries.

Very deep purple-black colored, it bursts from the glass with a fruit explosion of blueberry compote, freshly crushed black plums, black cherry preserves and cassis, giving way to touches of red roses, cigar boxes, yeast extract and fallen leaves.
From a magnum, this lighter styled Schrader was medium bodied, mature and served up its sweet, fresh, bright, dark red cherry and earthy profile, with ease. This is not a wine that needs decanting or further aging.
The 2009 Screaming Eagle is insanely beautiful. It is a relatively open vintage that nevertheless possesses stunning intensity, depth and elegance. Dark red berries, flowers, mint and spices are all woven together beautifully.
Mindlblowing nose with spearmint, cloves and blackberries. Floral, too. Full body with phenomenal detail featuring delicate but intense blackberry, espresso, toasted oak, caramel and dark chocolate. Cedar and sweet tobacco. Finesse all over.
Aromas of candied blackberry and earthiness in this 40 plus years old wine. Flavors of cooked berries, almond and cassis. Brightness and fruit came through on nose and in flavors. Spice on long finish. Such a treat. Beautifully aged Magnum bottle.
