Deep colour holds well to a ruby-red rim. Aromas are initially closed with notes of cedar & meat dominating the fruit. On the palate coffee & cedar notes overlay blackcurrant & bitter liquorice flavours.
Opulent, broad, full-bodied and more mature than I expected given how this wine showed in its youth, this deep, rich Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptional. However, in this vintage it has to take a back seat to a number of other cuvees.
The nose shows abundant red fruits, lots of bright cherry along with bramble-berries, such as blackberry, cranberry, mulberry, and framed with hints of mineral/herbal characters such as graphite, cedar, and pencil shavings.

The 2014 Insignia is a total knockout. It begins with intense aromas of crème de cassis, coffee grounds and, pencil shavings and a touch of bell pepper.
It's a big wine, dense purple in color with some lightening at the edge, plenty of cr?me de cassis fruit, lead pencil shavings, sweet vanilla and earth. It is very ripe, full-bodied, opulent and voluptuously textured.
