Product details
Lalocura Tobasiche carries with it a deep sense of place and heritage from the hills above Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca. Since its founding in 2014 by Eduardo “Lalo” Ángeles, the brand has embodied a raw, artisanal ethos: locally sourced agave Largo (also known as Tobasiche) is gently roasted in an earthen oven, hand-mashed, allowed to ferment naturally, and then refined in small clay vessels—double-done for clarity and nuance. Eduardo, drawing from his roots and agricultural knowledge, channels the character of the region’s wild agave fields into each batch, offering a product that feels grounded, authentic, and unmistakably tied to its origin.
On the nose, expect lively citrus zest, ripe pineapple, green apple, and earth-driven accents like mineral undertones and a hint of brine—then soften into spicy warmth and dried fruit notes. In the mouth, it greets you with a dry, subtly sweet texture, peppery spice, salted peanut nuances, and a lingering earthy finish that’s both grounding and expressive.
