Hampden Estate has been distilling rum in Jamaica's Trelawny region, the historic "grand cru" of Jamaican rum, for nearly three centuries.
The distillery's heavy pot still rums are crafted using unique methods - and are celebrated worldwide for their remarkably full-bodied flavors.
Named after the Spanish word used to describe vineyards in the Jerez region, Pagos is the premier Hampden Estate rum aged entirely in genuine first fill sherry casks.
The 500 liter butts used to mature Pagos come from the renowned Bodega Lustau and are of the highest quality.
Previously, Oloroso Pata de Gallina and Pedro Ximénez sherries were stored in them for at least three years.
Nose: Refined and typical with aromas of wax, chocolate, apricot, sugar cane, Russian leather perfume, mango and passion fruit
Taste: delicate and lively - teal, star anise, clove, chocolate eclair and baba au rhum cake
Finish: balanced and persistent - cocoa, citrus fruits, ripe apricot, quince jelly, precious wood and spicy notes
