Duclot Collection 2003 brings together nine distinguished Bordeaux estates from the landmark 2003 vintage in a single presentation: Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Margaux, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Château Pétrus, Château Cheval Blanc, and Château Ausone. Each estate contributes one bottle to the collection, creating a broad portrait of Bordeaux’s most celebrated terroirs across the Left and Right Banks. The collection reflects the diversity of Bordeaux through an exceptionally warm growing season, with each château expressing its individual vineyard character, grape composition, and approach to maturation. Presented as an original Duclot Collection, this nine-bottle set offers a distinctive way to explore the 2003 vintage across several of the region’s most historic estates.
The 2003 vintage displays a remarkable range of verified characteristics across the collection. Château Lafite-Rothschild is rich, intense, and unctuous, with rounded tannins, while Château Mouton-Rothschild shows blackcurrant, cedarwood, caramel, and stewed fruit, followed by a lush palate of fruit and spice with refined, rounded tannins.
Château La Mission Haut-Brion offers red berries, blackberries, and licorice with a soft opening and powerful yet harmonious tannic structure. Château Margaux is marked by red berry fruit, freshness, purity, floral notes, and subtle spice, while Château Haut-Brion combines abundant, silky tannins with crisp, ripe fruit character.
Château Pétrus presents black cherry, melted chocolate, wild strawberry, and roasted coffee. Château Latour is fruity, full-bodied, generous, powerful, and dense with a very long finish, while Château Ausone shows violets, truffles, lead-pencil character, blueberry, and blackberry alongside concentrated texture and refined tannins. Together, these nine expressions illustrate the complexity, structure, freshness, and depth found across the 2003 Bordeaux vintage.
