Product details
BenRiach’s heritage is deeply rooted in the rugged beauty of Speyside, where patient maturation and exacting selection have long defined its identity. In crafting this landmark 50-year release, the house drew upon decades of accumulated wisdom, selecting a single, exceptional cask laid down in 1966 and nurturing it through half a century of ambient change. From that solitary vessel emerges an expression that encapsulates BenRiach’s signature fruit-infused character, elevated to a rarefied plane of depth and subtlety. Natural in hue and unfiltered, the liquid is housed in an elegant crystal decanter and presented in a bespoke box whose aesthetic echoes the variegated casks that once surrounded it.
On the nose, finely honed oak opens the experience, intermingled with warm chestnut, maraschino cherry and delicate acacia honey, while threads of truffle and narcissus lend gentle complexity. The palate unfolds slowly, revealing luscious honeyed dates dancing with nuanced oak spices, as crisp apple, ripe pear and a whisper of grapefruit emerge in the background. Subtle hints of dark vanilla, seared apple and warm cinnamon follow, leading into a finale where charred orange lingers, drawing the journey to a refined and enduring close.
