Product details

Ausone Au Fil Du Temps Collection 2009, 2010, 2015 brings together three significant vintages from Château Ausone, a historic estate in Saint-Émilion with a heritage extending back nearly four centuries. Named in reference to the Roman poet Ausonius, the estate is situated on a distinctive hillside site characterized by limestone-rich soils, an important foundation of Ausone’s mineral character and structure. The Grand Vin is centered on Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with the proportions adapted to the character of each vintage. The 2009 vintage was composed of 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot, while the 2010 was 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot, and the 2015 vintage was an even 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot. The 2015 expression was matured in French oak for approximately 20 months, including a substantial proportion of new oak. Together, these three vintages provide a focused view of Château Ausone’s distinctive Saint-Émilion character across different growing seasons.

The 2009 Château Ausone is noted for an expressive profile of currants, blueberries, flowers, and mineral character, supported by remarkable structure, refined tannins, freshness, and a long finish. The 2010 vintage shows a deep, concentrated character with dried fruit and mineral elements, a full and energetic palate, polished yet substantial tannins, and a persistent finish. The 2015 vintage presents expressive plum, wild blueberry, cherry, rose, spice, and mineral notes, followed by a rich, powerful palate with firm yet velvety tannins, freshness, and considerable length. Taken together, the three vintages demonstrate the evolution of Ausone’s signature combination of depth, mineral character, structure, freshness, and elegance.
