Product details
Fortaleza Anejo is a carefully crafted expression that reflects the heritage and traditions of Tequila Valley, Mexico. Produced using 100% blue agave sourced from the region, it is made with time-honored methods that include slow cooking in stone and brick ovens, crushing with a traditional stone tahona, open-air fermentation in wooden tanks, double copper-pot processing, and natural spring water from Tequila Valley. Matured for 18 months in American oak and presented in hand-blown Mexican glass, this release showcases Fortaleza's dedication to preserving authentic production methods while highlighting the natural character of its agave and the influence of patient oak maturation.
The aroma opens with notes of caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, and cooked agave, followed by layers that may also reveal pineapple, peach, orange blossom, nutmeg, and raisin. On the palate, it delivers a rich, full-bodied impression with cooked agave complemented by butterscotch, caramel, toffee, citrus, and hazelnut. This well-balanced profile pairs beautifully with grilled steak, roasted pork, slow-cooked barbecue, aged cheeses, roasted nuts, or desserts featuring caramel or vanilla, making it an excellent choice for relaxed gatherings and special occasions.
