The 2013 J. Schram Noirs follows the same logic; is primarily made with Pinot Noir and it replaces the wine known as Reserve. From a winemaking standpoint of view, the wine is exactly what Reserve used to be: it’s our top release for Pinot Noir and it incorporates a high percentage of barrel fermentation (30% in the case of this vintage) and a very long aging (8 years on the yeast in our caves for this wine). Now that Reserve became J. Schram Noirs it is now offered in a J. Schram shaped bottle.
Schramsberg 'J. Schram' Blancs 2013 - 750ml
The 2013 J. Schram Blancs opens with the attractive aromas of baked peach, caramel apple, marzipan, and brioche, and finishes with nuances of vanilla custard and bright lemon curd. The elegant palate delivers seamless and concentrated flavors, tropical and citrus fruits, layered with creamy notes of sponge cake and graham cracker. A long finish is driven by a generous and lively acidity.
Blend: 87% Chardonnay, 13% Pinot Noir
Schramsberg 'J. Schram' Noirs 2013 - 750ml
The 2013 J. Schram Noirs exhibits generous aromas of mango, yellow peach, red apple, cherry, and orange zest, followed by undertones of vanilla, honey, lemon cookie, graham cracker, brioche, French toast, and honeysuckle. Its rich and elegant palate delivers a zesty citrus entry, leading to flavors of apricot, candied ginger, and milk chocolate. Driven by vibrant acidity, this sparkling wine carries lively, lavish length to the finish.
J. Schram Noirs is well-suited with a main course, such as fruit-stuffed veal, pork tenderloin, roast duck with mango, cedar-plank grilled salmon, and curried chicken salad. This flavorful sparkling wine can also be served as an apéritif with smoked oysters, caviar and such hard cheeses as aged Swiss Sbrinz, Sonoma Vella Jack, or Irish Coolea.
Blend: 88% Pinot Noir, 12% Chardonnay
Schramsberg 'J. Schram' Rose 2013 - 750ml
The 2013 J. Schram Rosé instantly pleases the eye with its copper tinged, subtle salmon color. Opening aromas of apricot, peach and passionfruit are balanced with notes of raspberry, marzipan and vanilla custard. On the palate, deep rich layers of cherry, candied pineapple and rhubarb compote intermingle with flavors of apricot preserve and apple pie. Finishing with a creamy and coating palate, this wine is truly a celebration for the senses.
Blend: 74% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir
