Product details
Specially selected from the ancient whisky archives at Duncan Taylor, this incredibly rare whisky was distilled at the renowned Macallan Distillery, in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland. Since 1824 Macallan have been demonstrating the excellence of spirit and cask to craft stunning whiskies which are celebrated around the world. The American Oak maturation in this 52 Year Old, has created a remarkable whisky, which is endlessly enticing, complex and rich. Tasting Notes Colour - Polished bronze. Nose - Rich, dark chocolate with notes of overripe orange peel shining through. Hints of cinnamon and dusty spices, with a touch of aniseed, sweet wood and creamy vanilla. Palate - Rich, toffee and demerara sugar bound into caramel biscuits. Fruitiness is more subdued and more reminiscent of underripe fruits, perfectly balanced, with a little spice on the front of the tongue. Finish - The maturation in American Oak shows a smoother, softer side to The Macallan. A creamy, sweeter more tropical flavoured whisky than the traditional aged sherry casks. Only 10 bottles available across the United States.
