Based on a bespoke blend made for the New York City restaurant The Spaniard, this permanent addition to the Compass Box portfolio nods to Spain’s wine culture, aging some of the Scotch in former Sherry or Spanish red wine casks.
Aromas of tropical fruit, cola cubes, dried figs and cigar box fill the nose, complemented by notes of lemon zest, toffee, biscuits and freshly-baked gingerbread.
This wine opens with brilliant aromas of dark red fruits, sweet tobacco, mocha and brown spice. Licorice, Asian plumb, dark chocolate and raspberry flavors envelop the palate and are supported by integrated tannins and lead to a satisfyingly long finish.
To the nose, Jameson is clearly a mellow pot still whiskey with toasted wood and sherry undertones. Jameson's taste is distinctively smooth and sweet with mild woody and nutty notes. Incredibly smooth is the only way to describe the finish.
