Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi was established in 1979 by Robert Mondavi. Located 30 miles (50km) south of Sacramento, within the Lodi AVA (American Viticultural Area) Woodbridge produce a large variety of wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Zinfandel amoungst others.
Growing up in Lodi, a region known more for bulk wines, Mondavi was inspired to produce accessible and affordable fruit-focused wine. He purchased a local cooperative of grape growers, and named the winery after the nearby town of Woodbridge.
