The 2015 redesign of Macallan Oscuro has resulted in a shapely decanter and sleek presentation box. Originally a travel-retail exclusive, Macallan Oscuro is a combination of casks of whisky distilled between 1987 and 1997. It combines the collectability of Macallan with the trademark rich sherried elegance.
Nose: Oak, berry fruits and vanilla. Hints of cocoa, orange rings, marmalade, spices and black pepper.
Palate: Vanilla fudge, red berries and chocolate malt. Intense sherry and pine resin, a little cookie dough with chocolate chips and cinnamon.
Finish: Long and warming, hints of soft smoke and intensely dark malt.
