The 2024 release of Springbank 12 Years Old Cask Strength, bottled at 57.2%, marks the 25th batch in this acclaimed series from the Campbeltown distillery. This whisky matured in a combination of bourbon (70%) and sherry casks (30%), resulting in rich flavors of figs, caramel, with hints of chocolate, charcoal, nutmeg, and a subtle touch of coffee. Springbank is one of only three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, a region that was once a major hub for whisky production in Scotland. Established in 1828 by the Mitchell family, who have resided in the area since the 17th century, Springbank remains the oldest family-owned distillery in Scotland, still managed by Mitchell descendants today.
