A 2006 Distillers Edition Oban single malt, finished in Montilla Fino sherry casks and bottled in 2020. Aromas of dates, sugared almonds, ginger, oak and waxy orange peel fill the nose, complemented by notes of chocolate digestives, ginger biscuits, pecans, salty sea breeze and juicy sultanas throughout the palate.
Oban Distillery was established in 1793, commenced production the following year and is now one of the oldest working malt whisky distilleries in Scotland. It resides in the center of the town of Oban on Scotland’s west coast making it a Highland distillery. It is equipped with just two stills is one of the very few distilleries to operate with traditional worm tubs. The core range comprises the Oban 14 Year Old, Distillers Edition and Oban Little Bay whilst independent releases have been very few in number.
