Product details
Heitz Cellar Winery was founded in 1961 by pioneer vintner, Joe Heitz. His biggest success was in the first vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard.
This bottle is their flagship wine, Heitz Cellar Estate Martha’s Vineyard 2012. They used exclusive “Martha’s Clone” to produce Cabernet Sauvignon with deep concentrated flavors and distinctive minty aroma. During the aging process, this bottle was aged in 100% French Limousin oak barrels for five years. This oak barrel gives the wine a firmer structure with silkier tannin.
With prudence and patience, the beautifully harmonious and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon wine was produced. It is full bodied, with silky tannin and juicy finish. The intense aroma of mint, eucalyptus, dark berries, currant, and woods are what distinguished it among other wines.
Joe Heitz lived with spirit and passion, savoring every year as a Napa Valley winemaker to the fullest extent. Along with Alice, Joe also derived great pleasure in the successful transition of Heitz Wine Cellars to the second generation before his death in December 2000.
Today, Alice Heitz continues to lend support at the winery with her keen palate and quick wit.
