In Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County lies one of the finest California wineries, Ferrari-Canaro Vineyards and Winery. Every Ferrari-Canaro wines are vinified and kept in separate lots until blending. This unique philosophy sets their wines apart from most of the Sonoma wines.
This bottle is Tresor Ferrari-Carano 2013. “Tresor” means treasure in French. This red wine uses Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc from their vineyards in Alexander, Napa, Dry Creek, and Russian River Valleys. They are aged in 54% new French oak and 46% older oak.
Tresor Ferrari Carano 2013 is silky, elegant, and vibrant. They have aroma of dark plum, melted chocolate fudge, and toffee. Their sweet notes of creme de cassis, blackberries, and integrated wood acidity gives it a complex structure. This nice wine can sit for another 10-15 years.
