A.D. Rattray, an independent bottler company with 150 years of history, represents several well-known Highland Malt distilleries. This bottle of Cask Orkney 18 Year Old is part of their “Casks of Scotland” small batch series. It was created to celebrate the Neolithic folklore of Orkney.
There are only two distilleries in Orkney, Scapa and Highland Park. However, no one knows which of the two distilleries produced this whisky.
Cask Orkney 18 Year Old is lightly peated on the nose. There’s noticeable aromas of juicy apple, oats, and heather. On the palate, toffee and caramel is accompanied by mouth-watering notes of apples.
It was recently awarded a Gold Medal in the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
