In 1954, the young Henry Morgan left his hometown of Wales to become a legal pirate, and he was well-known around the world. A few centuries later, Seagram Co. released the Captain Morgan Rum brand in his name, which became extremely famous.
This rum is column-distilled, which helps clear the impurities. Once distilled, they are aged in oak barrels for up to one year. This extra step is what gave Captain Morgan golden colors, and a special character. In the final stage, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum uses Carribean Islands’ spices for an extra kick.
